Weekly Wrap-up / Homeschool Highlights: Week 2



Homeschool Coffee Break



Sophie (age 13)
English: Whodunit, Mysteries & More (online class): reading and writing assignments
Photography: (VLACS online class) : project and discussion questions 
Art (online class): Pen and Ink drawing, reading: 13 Art Techniques Children Should Know
PE: Biking the Rail Trail 2X, hiking
Reading: The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin Chapt. 1-15, Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements (audio book), Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins (audio book)
Music: Singing with youth group worship band
Cooking: Made shrimp stir fry, chicken stir fry, and chocolate chip muffins

We are starting the school year slowly.  Sophie is finishing up the Photography class she started last year, so I told her we can wait a few weeks before we add in Math, History and Science.

Sophie got a new pet! This is Izzy!

We went hiking with the family to celebrate Charles' birthday.

  1. I love that our kid cooks too! This is a much needed skill as I have many grown friends that can't or won't cook for themselves and wonder where their money goes. I'm enjoying my kids cooking and find that the make some dishes better than I do. Thanks for dropping into my blog :-D
