Weekly Wrap-Up: Week 3




Sophie (age 13)
English: Whodunit, Mysteries & More (online class): wrote fictitious business letter to the judge explaining who she thinks the bomber was and the reasons why.
Photography: (VLACS online class) : finished up everything except the finial exam
Art (online class) :Soap carving
PE: walking and bike riding
Reading: Finished  The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin and started The Detective's Assistant by Kate Hannigan
Music: Singing with youth group worship band
Cooking/baking: made peanut butter cookies and chocolate chip cookies and mailed them to her dad!

This week went by so fast!  Tonight Sophie is with her older brother in Boston at an Owl City concert!  She also got a new hair cut!  Starting Monday we will add in History, Science and Math to our homeschool day.

Photography: (VLACS online class) : project and discussion questions 
Art (online class): Pen and Ink drawing, reading: 13 Art Techniques Children Should Know
PE: Biking the Rail Trail 2X, hiking
Reading: The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin Chapt. 1-15, Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements (audio book), Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins (audio book)
Music: Singing with youth group worship band
Cooking: Made shrimp stir fry, chicken stir fry, and chocolate chip muffins

We are starting the school year slowly.  Sophie is finishing up the Photography class she started last year, so I told her we can wait a few weeks before we add in Math, History and Science.
